3 Days From Fes to Marrakech Desert Trip
Day 1: Fes / Erfoud / Merzouga (287 miles)
This day Starts early with breakfast, drive directly to Erfoud via pure attractive nature, through wooded Middle Atlas Mountains, and Berber villages such as Azrou, which known for its handicraft cooperative. After this visit we’ll need to have lunch so we’ll pass the Ayachi Hotel, then leave to Midelt (an important mining center) and the Ziz River, through a series of fortified villages which characterized by attractive architecture in the south. when Arriving to Merzouga we’ll have a delicious dinner and spend our night under the tents.
Day 2: Merzouga / Erfoud / Ouarzazate (227 miles)
Today we wake-up in early morning to see the view of inspiring sunrise from the Merzouga dunes, after that we’ll have a chance to ride Camels for 1 hour to reach the hotel. Followed by a travel to Ouarzazate via the Todra gorges after breakfast, lunch will be at Todra exactly the Yasmina restaurant. We may visit the movie studio(if there is no production event) where scenes from Bertulucci’s “The Sheltering Sky”, Spielberg’s “Gladiators”, “The Last temptation of Christ”, and “Lawrence of Arabia” were filmed in, this area is well known for its Berber ceramic works and fine carpet making, it is really fantastic. And if it is possible, we will see the Tifoultout and Taourirt Kasbahs. Finally, and after a long day we eat dinner and have a good night.
Day 3: Ouarzazate / Marrakesh (126 miles)
This day Starts with a nice breakfast, then leave to the Ait Ben Haddou village in order to visit the ruins of this ancient Kasbah. We’ll have lunch there and enjoy the whimsical views of this inherited site , and then we continue the trip via the Tiz-In- Tichka pass (7,415 ft / 2,260 m) and Taddert to Marrakesh.
